Cassie + Friends Mission
We are dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families affected by juvenile arthritis and other pediatric rheumatic diseases.
Through research, education, connection, and direct support, we are working to ensure that every child has access to care, community, and a better future.
Why this Work Matters
Juvenile arthritis and childhood rheumatic diseases are complex, lifelong conditions that affect thousands of children and youth across Canada.
Too often:
- diagnosis is delayed
- access to specialists is limited
- families feel isolated and unsupported
We exist to change that.
Our Story

Cassie + Friends began with one child—and one family determined to make a difference.
When Cassie was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis as a toddler, her family was suddenly navigating a world of uncertainty, fear, and complex care. Like many families, they quickly realized how little awareness and support existed.
Determined to create change, Cassie’s father organized a run to raise funds and awareness.
What started as a single event quickly grew into a movement.
Families, healthcare professionals, and communities came together—driven by a shared goal: to ensure no child faces this journey alone.

Growing a National Community
We are supporting families and children across Canada.
Today, Cassie + Friends is a national organization supporting children and families across Canada.
We work alongside:

- healthcare professionals
- researchers and partners
Together, we are building a stronger system of care, improving outcomes, and creating a community where families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Looking Forward
We’ve made meaningful progress—but there is still more to do.
Too many children are still waiting for answers, access to care, and relief from pain.
We will continue to:
- invest in research
- expand support programs
- advocate for better care
