I graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a focus in Genetics and Evolution. Shortly after graduating and working in a laboratory, I came to the realization I can make a bigger impact in healthcare and biotechnology by leveraging my scientific expertise to work in the financial side of the industry. From there, I joined the RBC Career Launch Program, and am currently in my second rotation focused on helping a local non-profit. I have been assisting Cassie + Friends since September as an Events Coordinator, primarily focused on organizing the Connect JA Conference next year, alongside supporting the rest of the staff wherever I can.

My time with Cassie + Friends has been a very rewarding experience. I learned about the inner-workings of a charity alongside getting to know the amazing people who keep it going. One of my most eye-opening experiences from being at Cassie + Friends was seeing that everyone has a deep desire towards helping the patients and parents that look to them for guidance and hope. Be it for a single person, or even a couple hundred, I’ve had the privilege to see the impact the work here accomplishes, and I’ll forever be proud in helping Cassie + Friends on its mission to connect those dealing with juvenile arthritis to a place of hope.
