Are you between 12 to 18 years of age with JIA?
Consider participating in our study.
What is the study about?
We are testing a new online mentoring program to offer social support and self-management advice to adolescents with JIA. The program is part of an ongoing research study led by The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
What’s involved?
- You will be randomly assigned to one of two groups:
- Mentored group: You will be assigned to a peer mentor who is trained to talk to teens about issues related to your JIA. Calls will be completed over Skype over a 15-week period.
- Non-Mentored group: You will be on a waitlist for nine months. After that, you will be matched with a peer mentor.
- Both groups: Will be asked to complete questionnaires at three timepoints during the study at Week 1, Week 15 and at 9 months. Participants will be given gift certificates after completing each set of questionnaires.
