Do you feel pain even if you take arthritis medications? Do you want to find ways to manage your pain that is right for you? A team at the University of Ottawa led by Dr. Karine Toupin April, has developed the JIA Option Map, a web app that helps youth and their families make decisions on pain management treatments. The web app brings users through a five-step process where youth or parents identify preferences, review and select up to thirty treatment options and make a plan to share with the health care team.

We developed the web app alongside youth and families with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis but we need your help to make the web app better! To participate in this research study, we will ask you to participate in a phone or video interview that should last about 45 minutes. You may qualify for the study if:

  • You are a teen (13-18 years old) or parent of a teen with JIA

AND

  • You (as a teen) or your child (as a parent) has experienced pain

After completion of the interview, you will be provided with a small payment to recognize your contributions and time.
