Team Cassie and Friends will be participating in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge Run/Walk on June 24th. Wondering what this day is all about? Here are some frequently asked questions to put your mind at ease and help you get registered before race fees go up on May 18th!
What happens on race day?
Race day is full of excitement! Meet at our charity booth in Stanley Park around 8:30am to get your C+F run shirts, meet other teammates and head together to the start line (our sea of white C+F shirts and smiling kids are always an event highlight!). We’ll have poster-making supplies and fun warm-up activities for kids, friends and families. The 5km run/walk begins at 9:00am and ends back at our booth for cupcakes, cookies, champagne and our annual team photo!
Do I have to be an experienced runner to join the team?
Nope! Team Cassie and Friends is for everyone regardless of age and ability. Go at your own pace, walk instead of run or use a stroller – whatever you are comfortable with!
Do I have to fundraise?
Fundraising has been an incredible part of this day and allows us to do so much for kids and families – but our team’s main goals are community, awareness and fun! We want you on our team no matter how much you raise!
You might be surprised when you share your heart and story with friends, family and coworkers, just how many people want to help. We certainly were when we joined this event 10 years ago – and here we are today with the title of “Top Charity Challenge Team” for 10 years running!
Is it expensive to register?
The cost of registration is FREE for kids and $39 (+ a discount with Cassie and Friends’ charity pin codes!) for adults in the 5K. The cost of registration for the Half Marathon is $79, and will also be discounted when you use our charity pin codes.
On May 18, prices go up slightly, so register this week for the lowest price!
