IS THIS YOU?
We’re on the hunt for a smart, driven and experienced fundraising professional who’s ready to make a substantial contribution to our growing Cassie + Friends team – not to mention the lives of thousands of kids and families across Canada! We really want the people who work at C+F to love the challenge of scaling an organization, including the work of getting the right processes into place for enduring growth. We have some exciting projects on the go – from the launch of a brand new national research network to the return of in-person Family Day conferences across Canada – and want you to be a meaningful part of that story! If you’re the type of person excited by growth, we’d love to speak with you.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As National Manager, Events and Fundraising, you will drive revenue growth coast-to-coast by executing our national annual giving strategy and building on current successes in peer-to-peer, sponsorship and foundation fundraising. You will prioritize meeting with and learning more about our amazing community of youth, families, healthcare professionals and corporate/foundation partners (and introduce C+F to those who haven’t heard of us yet!) to inspire new support for C+F’s mission through diverse revenue streams (i.e. individual gifts, events fundraising, monthly/planned giving, corporate partnerships and grants).
Team Cassie + Friends, our annual run/walk held in 11 cities across the country, is a huge part of C+F’s story so we’re hoping you’re passionate about supporting fundraisers and volunteers, and kick-starting relationships with companies across Canada for sponsorship opportunities.
Finally, you’ll work to balance prospecting with making sure our stewardship and data management practices are second to none – all with exceptional help from your C+F teammates and volunteer leadership (who do an amazing job of listening to our community, building what they need, and providing leading support).
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a great presenter and communicator whether on email, the phone or in-person/zoom
- Have demonstrated experience researching, qualifying and securing meetings with prospects
- Enjoy the high rewards of peer-to-peer fundraising and know how to motivate and recognize fundraisers and volunteers for their efforts
- Develop engaging prospect solicitation strategies and proposals
- Build meaningful connections with donors and volunteers that results in new and diverse revenue streams (i.e. major gifts, events fundraising, planned giving, corporate partnerships)
- Be passionate about our mission and driven to share it with others
- So what are we specifically looking for?
- Ideally, you have 5+ years of progressive fundraising or closely related business experience (i.e. Sales or Business Development)
- Experience managing multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced organization
- Excellent communication (writing/verbal) and interpersonal skills
- You are able to easily communicate ideas and plans and get people excited about them
- You understand people and should know instinctively when to push and when to let things simmer as you work to build strong relationships
- Experience with a CRM, i.e. Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce
- Some flexibility to travel and to attend evening and weekend events
Benefits (…we’ve got great friends!)
Cassie + Friends has an amazing office in Vancouver shared with us by Porte Communities – a local real estate development company with great values and culture, including weekly fitness classes, social events, a rooftop patio and ongoing professional development opportunities. That said, for the right candidate, we are open to creating a great hybrid or remote work experience (and will make sure you feel included, wherever you are!)
- Anticipated salary range $60,000-80,000 depending on experience
- Extended health and dental plan
- Investment in your career development & growth
- 4 weeks vacation plus annual holiday closure
