Dear Friends + Partners,

As part of our advocacy for Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month, I am pleased to let you know about a special editorial by Cassie + Friends appearing today in the Toronto Star newspaper and digitally on healthinsight.ca. Click here for a link to the full article.

Your voice is so important in the fight against children’s pain.

Over the past two weeks, many of you have chosen to join our awareness efforts by sharing your stories of life with rheumatic disease online.

Others have offered critical support to Cassie + Friends by making a donation or joining us as a monthly donor.

We are so thankful for all the ways you are able to help us reach even more parents, kids and families who need the services and support only Cassie + Friends offers.

We have big goals for our community over the next five years and need your help to get there.

In five years, we plan to be:

  • Raising $1.5-million per year in order to support a thriving Cassie + Friends community in every pediatric rheumatic disease centre in Canada
  • Advancing our vision of a pain-free future for kids with a minimum $500,000 contributed annually to research
  • The leader of advocacy and a first-point of information, support and connection for affected children, youth and families

If you haven’t had the chance to do so, I hope you will join our efforts to ensure Juvenile Arthritis and other pediatric rheumatic conditions are recognized as priority areas of children’s health in Canada. Here are two easy ways to get started:

  1. Share our editorial online with your personal and professional networks as a way to educate others about the severity of childhood rheumatic conditions. Don’t forget to tag us!
  2. Make a gift or get behind our mission as a new monthly donor

Sincerely,

David Porte
Board Chair

PS: I would like to send a special thanks to our Medical Advisory Committee for their dedication and guidance in speaking up for kids and support with our article.
