Cassie and Friends organized our first-ever advocacy session + workshop in February 2016 – not long before the BC 2017 Election started heating up. Now, as we barrel toward election day on May 9th, we are ready to act – and we need your help!
Under the expert guidance of our partners, Arthritis Consumer Experts, Cassie and Friends Society is leading a call for the BC Government to drastically improve the outlook of children with Systemic JIA by allowing reimbursement coverage for canakinumab for the small number of children who need it.
We need your voice to send our message before the election on May 9th: our kids deserve better.
While SJIA affects just 10 to 20% of kids with arthritis, we hope our community of parents will step up and help make sure these kids receive the best treatment possible. Kids and families are currently suffering intolerable pain and treatment regimes because Canakinumab is not covered by BC Pharmacare, despite being approved by Health Canada.
