We are so excited to share this video produced by our friends at LEAP Study with help from the very talented team at Turtlebox Productions.

This video features several familiar faces here at Cassie and Friends and, best of all, shows kids doing what they love most – BEING ACTIVE – despite the challenges of Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). Their message: Get up and get active! JIA Can’t Stop Me!

As parents of kids with JIA, we see firsthand the healthy effects that physical activity combined with effective medical treatments can have. Even in the face of stiffness, pain, and all the rest of it, kids thrive on being kids – playing, moving, running, sporting, etc. It’s so important to know that it’s good for them too.

We are so proud to know these kids and their families. This is why we do what we do!

More about the LEAP Study

Linking Exercise, Activity and Pathophysiology (or “LEAP”) in childhood arthritis is the first research study to look at how active children with arthritis are at different levels of disease activity. The study will provide information to help us better understand the interaction between inflammation, physical activity, and bone development in children with arthritis. It will help develop safe and effective exercise programs to keep children with arthritis healthy and improve their quality of life. The study is funded by the CIHR Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis.
