We’re so excited to share these amazing photos of Team Cassie & Friends from this year’s Scotiabank Half-Marathon and 5km Charity Challenge Run. It means the world to us to be able to participate in this event and connect with other families and friends – all in the name of supporting the incredibly brave children diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis and other childhood Rheumatic Diseases each year.

As of Race Day, our team raised over $70,000, putting us in the first place spot for most dollars raised and an additional cash prize from Scotiabank (to be confirmed in the coming weeks). Even more amazing? One of our top fundraisers this year was just 7-year’s old!

For those who missed the event, we hope you’ll join us next year. Take a look at the photos below: the C&F tent was bustling and our teammates (young and old)- nearly 65 of them in total- were decked out in their Cassie and Friends shirts. Two incredible cakes made by the talented Sweet Magnolia Baking of Vancouver, BC were enjoyed by all!  And the best part? So. Many. Happy. Smiling. Faces. Despite pain, despite challenges, despite setbacks, despite it all – kids and families having a great time, supporting each other and making a difference.

People kept coming up to the booth and asking us, “what’s your secret?” Why is your team so successful year after year? How do you get so many people to attend? How do you raise so much money? The answer is simple: because we have to. Juvenile Arthritis is still not receiving the public attention or funding it deserves. And we won’t stop until it does!

Congrats on another fabulous year, team!
